Catherine has designed and created costumes for Harakti Multi Media, Ayo Janeen Jackson, and Daniel Kubert. She assisted Liz Prince with costume construction from 2005-2006, and frequently designs and constructs costumes for her own work. Cabeen was a member of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company from 1998-2005. Cabeen is also a former member of the Martha Graham Dance Company, Pearl Lang Dance Theater, and Richard Move’s MoveOpolis!
Cabeen’s choreography has been performed in New York, Philadelphia, Miami, Santa Fe, Bellingham, and Seattle. Cabeen’s choreography has been presented at On the Boards, in both their 12 Minutes Max series, and on the Main Stage for the Northwest New Works Festival. She will perform her solo work in the AWARD show at OtB in December 2009.
Cabeen has choreographed for both the Cornish College and University of Washington Dance Departments and Theater Departments. She is responsible for the reconstructions of D-Man in The Waters for the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company on SUNY Purchase, the Univ of Ill, and the Univ of WA Chamber Dance Company. She can be seen performing with BTJ/AZ on the PBS Documentary Free to Dance and is a featured artist in Gigi Berardi’s book, Finding Balance. Cabeen holds Teaching Certificates from The Martha Graham School and OM Yoga Center, a BFA from Cornish College, Magna Cum Laude, and a MFA in dance from the University of Washington.
